We asked the students of the International School of Aruba what they expect the eclipse to be like. Here are some of their answers! Do you want to share you're ideas about the eclipse with them? Grade 1 The moon comes in front of the sun. - Samantha Yes, the moon gets really close to the sun. It burns. - Mario The sun and moon join together. - Miguel J. The sun comes behind the moon. - Miguel M. The moon goes over the sun for one minute. Then the moon will go away because the moon wants to play with the sun. - Beatrice I don't really know. - Daniel Grade 2 It's when the moon gets in front of the sun and the earth and gets dark. - Alison  The moon going over the sun. - Angelique Some guy eats the sun, and then throws it up. - Jonathan The shadow from the sun goes on the sun and the moon passes over the sun. Takes three hours and it is dangerous. - Valentine The wind pushes the moon and then the sun cannot be seen. So you put on glasses for the sun. - John The sun pulls the moon all around and it makes an eclipse. - Liam
Grade 3 The moon gets in front of the sun and gets closer to the earth and covers the sun because it is bigger. - Dru When the moon gets in front of the sun and makes a shadow on the earth. And it makes us dark. - Edgard I know that you should have special glasses to see that and when it gets dark you can see planets and stars and once the moon gets in front of the sun, you might see the rain. - Pris The moon rotates around the earth and it gets in the position to cover the sun and moves closer to the earth and blocks the sun. - Mary When the moon covers the sun and creates a black sun. - Jordan It's when the moon gets close to the earth and the moon blocks out the sun and I think it lasts for like three minutes and ten seconds. - Kate
Grade 4 When the moon gets closer to the earth the moon is right in front of the Sun. - Lisa When the moon is close to the earth it looks like the moon is blocking the sun because the sun is far away and the moon looks bigger. - Violet
The sun is far away from the sun and the moon is closer than the sun. Example if you put a fist in to light its like a shadow. - Justin An Eclipse is when the moon comes in front of the sun and makes a shadow. - Lawrence The earth stops so the moon blocks out the sun. There will be a blackout for about 3 min. Grade 5 The moon comes in front of the sun and the Earth reflexes the shadow. - Joran The moon comes in front of the sun. - Khaled The moon goes over the sun and does a blackout during the eclipse. - Andrew Solar eclipse is when moon cover the sun and it gets dark because no more sun. It's like night. It's cool for three minutes or so. - Carlos When the moon blocks the sun for a limited period of time. Everything turns dark. It lasts three minutes and the whole process is four hours. You need eclipse glasses. - Luis
Grade 6 Moon's going to pass in front of sun. It's going to block out the sun's light and a little circle of light around the moon. Everything is going to go dark. The moon comes in front of the sun and the shadow then goes to the earth but it's reflecting on Aruba. So, Aruba is the best place to see it. - Joran The animals aren't going to act normal.
